Meibohm Fine Arts is honored to present Quiet Horizons, a solo exhibition of recent and selected works by Karl Heerdt. This exhibition offers not only a glimpse into the artist’s current practice but also a thoughtful look back, an opportunity to reflect on a painter’s journey shaped by time, landscape, and quiet persistence.
Karl Heerdt’s work has long been rooted in close observation of the natural world. His landscapes are not only visual records but emotional responses - meditations on light, weather, memory, and presence. Over the course of nearly two decades working together, we have witnessed subtle shifts in his palette and technique, yet the core of Karl’s work has remained steady: a commitment to capturing the ephemeral and translating it into something lasting. Whether portraying expansive skies, still water, or a horizon barely suggested in soft color fields, Karl’s paintings offer a space of calm and contemplation.
In his own words: “Through the years, painting has remained a close companion. Like so many others, I feel an inescapable call to paint the beauty that nature seems to cast about with such ease. The colors, textures, and ever-shifting moods of the natural world are something to behold and to pursue. But soon enough, the challenges of capturing such richness become clear. Still, I am compelled to continue. May I continue along this chosen path, and through the experience, find gratitude in each success. May each viewer find their own quiet horizon.”
