The East Aurora Art Walk on Friday, September 29 is the largest ArtWalk to date.

East Aurora boasts a lively and ever-evolving artistic community, full with artists with various mediums and skill levels working daily. The arts hiding out of plain sight are showcased each spring and fall on one night: East Aurora Art Walk, a sprawling community-wide evening of art that brings artists and local businesses together and opens the doors of local galleries and artists’ studios to the public. This year’s ArtWalk is the largest combined showing of artists in recent memory, with 18 venues showing the work of over 30 artists.

Artists include local emerging artists as well as nationally and internationally recognized artists working in a wide array of mediums. Exhibits are combined with live music, entertainment and fine dining, linked together by a complimentary trolley service that runs between the venues, keeping the event inclusive and accessible. Art lovers can also stroll the village at their leisure, making stops along the way.

This season’s ArtWalk includes Meibohm Fine Arts’ exhibition of Gerald Mead, “The Artist and The Collector”, combining the work of local artist and art collector Gerald with key pieces from his collection and Meibohms’ extensive collections. Members of the East Aurora Art Society will once again show their work at West Herr Cadillac of East Aurora, and members of the Roycrofters-at-Large will be displaying work on the peristyle of The Roycroft Inn. The Art and Craftsman Guild will be exhibiting in the Castiglia Art Center on the Roycroft Campus.

INSIDE, OUTSIDE, IN BETWEEN, a group show including almost 30 local artists and artists from the Buffalo art community, will be open to the public at COMMA, located at 17 Elm Street. Tami Fuller of Blubird Studio will show her work in her new studio space, also located at 17 Elm Street.

Erin Long Loganathan will show her art and collected work by local and regional artists at the newly opened ERLO Contemporary on Main Street.

MUSEjar will once again host a showing of student work at their new location at 71 Pine Street,  as well as host Flock Fiber Arts for a display of their knitted work.

The East Aurora Cooperative Market will display artwork by members of the East Aurora Aktion Club in their storefront gallery space. Mambrino King will host Johnny Flowers and Pacific Underground’s show, “On Location in the South France- Original Landscapes by Karen Carlton,” continues.

Other participating locations include The Dress Shop, 42 North Brewing Company, The Art Barn, and new locations include Chloe Fisher Studio, Chroma Vibrantly Inspired and Off Main Gallery.

The ArtWalk originally rose out of a collaboration between Meibohm Fine Arts and the artists and galleries on the Roycroft Campus in the 1990s before growing to spread across East Aurora to encompass the breadth of the town and village, becoming a staple of both fall and spring before pausing in 2020 due to the pandemic. After returning in 2022 after a two-year hiatus, the re-imagined event is brighter and larger than ever.
