Artist Statement:

An idyllic vista exists within any place or position. Light appears through an opening, topography meanders, a shadow becomes the crux and takes the lead on a composition. With an abundance to take in, and equally to omit, my surroundings are an ideal place to illuminate the essence of what can be witnessed. The familiar becomes unfamiliar, expressing the peculiarity of something simple, translating poetry of space through the formal elements of painting; shape and color.
