The holiday season is approaching and for many the coming weeks will be teeming with food traditions handed down through generations. Food brings us together, allowing those around us to share in the process and create lasting memories. In the spirit of togetherness, Meibohm Fine Arts will be hosting a group exhibition, “An Appetite for Art”, featuring food-themed paintings.

Inspiration for the exhibit originated with artist John Brach whose traditional still life paintings serve as illustrations for his chef brother Jake Brach’s new cookbook titled “Of Food and Family” which is a tribute to their family culinary traditions. Additional artists were invited to participate with their own unique interpretations on the theme of food. From candy to cocktails, markets, and hunters’ bounty the theme of celebration and thanks is expressed. Featured artists include John Brach, Raymond Bonilla, Charles Houseman, Thomas Kegler, Joseph A. Miller, Margaret Raab, Vince Rowland and Sean Witucki.

The exhibition will be on view Saturday, November 26, 2022 - Friday, December 30, 2022. Preview the exhibition on our website meibohmfinearts.com.  We welcome your visit during our regular gallery hours Tuesday – Friday 9:30 – 5:30 and Saturday until 4:00. Please note we will be closed December 24-26. The artists’ opening reception for the exhibition will be held as an open house style event on Saturday, November 26 from 11am - 3pm. Author Jake Brach will be signing copies of his cookbook and refreshments will be served. Face masks are optional, and your consideration of others is appreciated when visiting the gallery.
