Karl Herzog (Austrian, 1902-) was born in 1902, in Vienna, Austria. He learned how to paint from his father when he was in his early youth. Recognizing his natural abilities, his parents later sent him to the Industrial school of Arts & Graphics where he studied for several years. He exhibited his paintings in the Glaspalast (Glass Palace) in Munich, Germany and with the Sezession (also known as the Union of Austrian Artists, Union of Pedagogic Artists of Austria, or Vereinigung Bildender Künstler Österreichs) Vienna, Austria, which earned him great success. He traveled and painted extensively throughout Austria and Italy.
