Thomas McLean, 26, Haymarket, London (British, 1788-1875, publisher c.1811-1929) was a publisher and printseller who specialized in the publication of political caricatures and issued hundreds of such cartoons in journals such as the Monthly Sheet of Caricatures. The McLean company was taken over by McLean’s grandson (some sources say son) Thomas Miller McLean, with location at their 7 Haymarket Street, who retired and sold the Thomas McLean’s gallery to art dealer Eugene Cremetti (of Cremetti & Son) in 1908, and Cremetti ran it up until 1923 when he retired and sold the gallery to William Walker Sampson who ran it until his death in 1929.
