John Schweikhard (American, 1938-) is a self-taught Western New York artist who is known for his oil paintings of urban landscapes, cityscapes, industrial and railroad scenes, harbors, and genre scenes that focus on Buffalo and Western New York. John was born in Buffalo in 1938, and during the course of his life he has worked as a professional photographer, and since 1977 he has owned his own sign painting business located in South Buffalo, NY. John took up painting later in life and his works feature elements of impressionist and expressionist styles that covey strong dynamic images within his compositions. Exhibitions of his work include past solo shows at Muleskinner Antiques, Williamsville, NY and at Frank Scheuttle’s Silent Voices Art & Antiques, Buffalo, NY.
