Artist Statement:

Using birds as representatives of nature my work explores our relationship to the natural world and our attempts to find order and meaning in nature.  Just as a sky filled with birds in flight can create patterns and rhythms, a repeated stitch can form an unexpected orderliness.  Birds can provide a window into another world where we may see something in a new way.

Each piece is hand stitched and embroidered using silk and cotton floss combined with new and repurposed fabrics, handmade papers and found objects.
