Michael Prezioso (American 20th Century)

As an artist, I strive to capture the interplay of light and shadow, conveying the realistic essence of my subjects - whether portraits, still lifes, or trompe l'oeil compositions.

I received my education at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where I majored in Illustration, and at SUNY Buffalo State College, where I studied Design. I have been fortunate to have studied under renowned artists such as Anna Ishikawa, Fernando Freitas, David Kassan, Max Gingsburg, and the late John Yerger, all of whom have influenced my artistic development.

Inspired by the old masters, I teach the Zorn color palette and take great joy in sharing my knowledge with my students, witnessing their growth and accomplishments. My work is represented in both private and corporate collections, and I am a member of the International Guild of Realism and the Portrait Society of America.

My artistic achievements include being a finalist in the 13th and 16th International Art Renewal Salon (ARC Salon) in 2018 and 2021. I've also participated in numerous juried group exhibitions, showcased at prestigious venues like the Burchfield Penney Art Center, Meibohm Fine Arts, the R.W. Norton Art Gallery, the Appleton Museum of Art, the Albany Museum of Art,  The Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery, Toronto, Ontario and the Salmagundi Club in New York, New York.

I reside and maintain my studio in Medina, New York.
